Rusted Textile Items

This was all an experiment to do rust on fabric and fibers. I had bought a hue piece of something from a scrap yard all rusted and added rusted nails, nut, bolts and screws. These are the results on
fibers lace and silk fabric. I did not include all the photos but theses are a good overview.

Your rusty fibers look great! I tried my hand at some linen napkins and the like, just haven't thought of anything to do with them.....yet at least. I have such a thing for rust and always feel attracted to it.

Darlene; thanks for the comment on my Detroit photos. I did not have to do too much photoshop work on them..I had a good base to work with. It has taken me a long time to learn it, and even then I have only scratched the surface..it is a HUGE program. Photoshop Elements is much cheaper than Photoshop and you can do A LOT on it! I know enough to be dangerous, hahaha. Patti in NY
PS enjoying the music on your blog and looking at your art!

Can you tell us how you got the rust to transfer to the fabric? What about making it stay in the fabric so you can apply the cloth to other things, such as sewing, or decorations on boxes, etc.

Thanks,
